The summer was a bit of an eventful one for Stars winger Jason Robertson. Unable to agree to terms on a long-term deal, Dallas tried to move the veteran to Seattle but that was derailed when Robertson didn’t want to…
Dallas Stars general manager Jim Nill plans to begin contract extension talks with winger Jason Robertson in early December, according to NHL.com. Robertson signed a one-year, $12 million contract over the summer following failed long-term negotiations and an aborted trade to the Seattle Kraken. Due to the timing of that deal, Robertson is not eligible to officially sign an extension until January 1.
Dallas is projected to have nearly $35 million in salary cap space for the 2027-28 season, aided by Tyler Seguin's expiring $9.85 million cap hit and an anticipated cap ceiling increase. Robertson has registered four goals and three assists through the first eight games of the season.
