If it's retribution against the Detroit Red Wings that Simon Edvinsson seeks before returning to the ice, his fans will gladly help to win him back.

Writer Katy Glaza argues that the Detroit Red Wings must do everything possible to re-sign defenseman Simon Edvinsson despite stalled contract negotiations. The two sides are reportedly no closer to an agreement after two months of talks, even following an in-person meeting between general manager Shawn Horcoff, Edvinsson, and his agent. Glaza emphasizes that Detroit cannot easily replace Edvinsson's defensive caliber.
According to the article, at least 10 other teams have inquired about Edvinsson's asking price amid the contract standoff. While acknowledging possible friction over contract offers and management communication, Glaza urges Detroit ownership and front office to resolve the impasse and bring the Swedish blueliner back to the organization.
