The Detroit Red Wings will continue to be shorthanded against the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday, as multiple forwards are out with injury.

The Detroit Red Wings will remain shorthanded against the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday as forwards Marco Kasper and Mason Appleton remain sidelined with injuries. Head coach Todd McLellan confirmed that both players are still at least two weeks away from returning to game action. Kasper has been out since the season opener on October 2, while Appleton has not played since October 4.
Detroit received positive news elsewhere, as forward J.T. Compher recently returned to the lineup following an absence that dated back to October 4. Goaltender Daniil Tarasov returned to practice Wednesday after an injury on Detroit's recent road trip, and captain Dylan Larkin's absence from practice was confirmed as a routine maintenance day.
