Is October too early to talk about a must-win game for the Detroit Red Wings? Probably. And yet Thursday’s 2-1…

The Detroit Red Wings secured their second win of the season with a 2-1 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday. Andrew Copp scored the game-winning goal at 15:22 of the third period, flipping a rebound past Flyers goaltender Joseph Woll. The win improved Detroit's record to 2-3-2 while Philadelphia remained winless at 0-6-3.
Matvei Michkov opened the scoring for Philadelphia in the first period before Detroit defenseman Anton Johansson tied the contest in the second with his first career NHL goal off a Dylan Larkin pass. Goaltender Daniil Tarasov stopped 17 shots to claim his first victory with the Red Wings. Detroit will host the San Jose Sharks in their next game on Saturday.
