The Detroit Red Wings were able to beat the Tkachuk Brothers and the rest of the Florida Panthers thanks to two of their rookies and defenseman Justin Faulk.

The Detroit Red Wings opened their November schedule with a 5-3 road victory against the Florida Panthers at Amerant Bank Arena. After losing the lead twice earlier in the contest, Detroit pulled ahead in the third period through a power-play goal by Justin Faulk and an insurance marker from Michael Brandsegg-Nygard, before Emmitt Finnie sealed the win with a late empty-net goal.
Carter Mazur scored his first career NHL goal in the opening frame, while Alex DeBrincat also tallied for Detroit. Sam Reinhart and Sam Bennett provided goals for Florida, but head coach Todd McLellan noted that special teams proved decisive in overcoming Florida's physical advantage.
