Edmonton Oilers star Connor McDavid has recorded 31 points in the first 10 games of the season, placing him in rare company in NHL history. According to Sportsnet, McDavid joins Wayne Gretzky, Mike Bossy, and Mario Lemieux as the only players to reach at least 30 points in their opening 10 games.
Writer Adam Martin notes that if McDavid maintains his current scoring rate, he is projected to challenge Gretzky's single-season record of 215 points. However, Martin cautions that with 74 games remaining, injuries or potential slumps could still alter his historic scoring pace.
