Could the Oilers put together a competitive offer for Nikita Kucherov?

Tyler Yaremchuk of OilersNation argues that the Edmonton Oilers are unlikely to assemble a competitive trade offer for Tampa Bay Lightning superstar Nikita Kucherov. Following reports that Kucherov requested a trade and will not re-sign in Tampa Bay, Yaremchuk evaluates Edmonton's chances in a potential bidding war, concluding that rivals have significantly superior trade assets.

Yaremchuk suggests that other interested clubs, such as Utah and the Montreal Canadiens, hold far better prospects and young players to entice the Lightning. According to the writer, the Oilers would only have a realistic path if Kucherov specifically demanded a move to Edmonton or insisted on being a pure rental.
