Edmonton Oilers head coach Babcock recalls favourite Halloween memory

Edmonton Oilers head coach Mike Babcock shared his favorite childhood Halloween memory during a Friday practice ahead of an upcoming road game against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden. Babcock recalled growing up in the Northwest Territories, where his father built a canoe structure onto his bicycle, completing a frontier-themed costume featuring a buckskin jacket, paddle, and fur hat.

The piece by Gerry Moddejonge highlights Babcock leading Edmonton to its strongest season start in five years despite initial criticism following past departures from Toronto and Columbus. Moddejonge notes that Babcock has achieved early success by assembling top players on the same line and structuring lineups strictly according to performance merits.
