Viljami Marjala, Atro Leppänen, and Damien Carfagna impressed during the Edmonton Oilers' second preseason game against the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday. Marjala capped off a strong performance by scoring the overtime winner over goaltender Domenic DiVincentiis. Meanwhile, defensive partners Leppänen and Carfagna stood out by moving the puck confidently and generating offensive opportunities throughout the matchup.
While the trio is considered unlikely to crack Edmonton's opening-night roster, their performances bolstered their positions as potential call-up options from the AHL's Bakersfield Condors. The 23-year-old Marjala, who is coming off a 60-point rookie campaign with the Condors, generated strong underlying numbers during the contest to reinforce his standing with the coaching staff.
