The Edmonton Oilers announced Wednesday that winger Zach Hyman has been placed on injured reserve, while center Jason Dickinson has been activated in a corresponding roster move. Hyman suffered a neck injury during Monday's game against the Detroit Red Wings after taking a hit from Andres Englund and hitting his back and head against the boards. Head coach Mike Babcock indicated the team is being cautious, confirming Hyman will miss at least seven days.
Dickinson returns to Edmonton's lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Calgary Flames, where he will center a line between Isaac Howard and Mathieu Joseph. He previously missed time due to an ankle injury and a subsequent setback during an October 15 skate. Hyman has recorded one goal in six games this season and is set to miss games against Calgary, the New York Islanders, the New York Rangers, and the New Jersey Devils.
