Trade Package Pitched in Oilers and Flyers Michkov Blockbuster

A speculative trade proposal circulating on social media suggests the Edmonton Oilers could acquire winger Matvei Michkov from the Philadelphia Flyers. In exchange, the proposed deal would send forward Isaac Howard, a 2028 first-round draft pick, and a third-round draft pick to Philadelphia. However, the report emphasizes that the rumor originates from an unverified account and lacks evidence of active negotiations.

NHL Trade Talk argues that while Michkov would provide elite offensive upside alongside Connor McDavid or Leon Draisaitl, Philadelphia has little incentive to make the swap. Michkov recorded 26 goals and 63 points in 80 games during his 2024–25 rookie season, making an unproven return package unlikely to justify moving him.
