Ex-Sabres Report: Logan Stanley Signs, Jonas Johansson Traded, Waiver Wire

Former Buffalo Sabres defenseman Logan Stanley has signed a one-year, $1.5 million free agent contract with the New York Islanders. Stanley, who played 76 regular-season games and eight playoff contests split between Winnipeg and Buffalo last season, joined the Islanders for practice on Sunday following their final preseason cuts.

Meanwhile, the Calgary Flames signed former Sabres first-round pick Alex Nylander to a one-year, two-way deal following a professional tryout. Additionally, the Sabres placed eight players on waivers for assignment to the Rochester Americans, while also signing defenseman Matt Grzelcyk to a one-year contract amid injuries to Mattias Samuelsson and Olen Zellweger.
