The Florida Panthers will once again throw Akira Schmid in between the pipes tonight against the Winnipeg Jets. Jacob Markstrom was present at practice as he nears a return.

Akira Schmid will start in goal for the Florida Panthers in their home game against the Winnipeg Jets. Schmid has stepped in following an upper-body injury to primary goaltender Jacob Markstrom, who has not played since October 17. The Jets are expected to counter in net with Nico Daws, Schmid's former teammate with the New Jersey Devils.
Markstrom has resumed skating with the Panthers after being placed on injured reserve on October 20 with an expected 10- to 14-day absence. He could potentially return as soon as Monday against the Detroit Red Wings or Wednesday against the Chicago Blackhawks. Additionally, head coach Paul Maurice confirmed injured forwards Sasha Barkov and Brad Marchand have resumed skating.
