The Philadelphia Flyers have activated forward Denver Barkey off injured reserve while placing forward Nikita Grebenkin on injured reserve with an upper-body injury. Barkey had been sidelined with a lower-body injury suffered in a preseason collision on September 21 against the Washington Capitals, which he subsequently aggravated in practice. Barkey is slated to make his season debut on Philadelphia's fourth line alongside Sean Couturier and Noel Acciari.
Grebenkin, who registered four goals and 14 points across 55 games for Philadelphia last season, has been nursing a training camp injury without a concrete return timeline provided. Barkey, 21, established himself in the NHL during the 2025-26 campaign, recording 17 points in 54 regular-season contests and appearing in 10 postseason games after an accomplished junior career with the London Knights.
