Reimer allowed three goals on eight shots and was pulled after one period in a 6-3 loss against the Los Angeles Kings.

The New York Rangers placed veteran goaltender James Reimer on waivers on Thursday following a difficult debut with the team. Reimer, who previously played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, was waived after making just one start for the club that lasted only one period.
The 38-year-old had initially joined the organization through a professional tryout agreement with their AHL affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack, amid a wave of goaltending injuries. He later signed a one-year, $850,000 contract with the Rangers, but can now be assigned to Hartford if he clears waivers unclaimed by another NHL team.
