Alex Hobson of TheLeafsNation criticized goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky following the Toronto Maple Leafs' late-game defeat against the Seattle Kraken. After Toronto erased a two-goal deficit to tie the game 4-4 late in the third period, Seattle defenseman Brandon Montour scored through Bobrovsky's five-hole with just over 30 seconds remaining to hand Toronto the loss.
Hobson argued that the defeat fell squarely on Bobrovsky, noting that he surrendered five goals on 17 shots for a .706 save percentage. Despite three-point nights from Toronto forwards Auston Matthews and Gavin McKenna, Hobson concluded that the netminder's costly late miscues ultimately ruined the team's comeback effort.
