Five games through the season and the Kings have yet to win a game. What areas have led to the early-season struggles?

The Los Angeles Kings remain winless through their first five games of the season, struggling across multiple facets of their game. Writer Holden Douglas highlights that the team ranks among the bottom five offenses in the NHL, averaging just 2.2 goals per game. Artemi Panarin is the only skater with more than one goal, while injuries to forwards Kevin Fiala and Mats Zuccarello have further weakened the offense.
Special teams and goaltending have compounded the Kings' difficult start. Los Angeles holds a 15.8% power-play conversion rate and a league-low 57.9% penalty-kill percentage. In goal, neither Darcy Kuemper nor Anton Forsberg has reached a .900 save percentage, contributing to the team allowing an average of 4.2 goals per game.
