Los Angeles Kings defenseman Brandt Clarke is preparing to take on a larger role as the team's primary offensive driver from the blue line under new assistant coach Phil Housley and head coach Peter Laviolette. The 23-year-old enters the season at the start of a five-year contract with an average annual value of $7.4 million, which he signed in June.
