If the Minnesota Wild acquire Dylan Larkin via trade, would that mean a Quinn Hughes extension is sure to follow?

The Athletic's Michael Russo suggested that the Minnesota Wild could secure a contract extension with Quinn Hughes if they acquire Detroit Red Wings center Dylan Larkin via a trade. Minnesota previously paid a significant trade package to acquire Hughes from the Vancouver Canucks, but the star defenseman has not yet committed to a long-term extension with the team.
Jim Parsons writes that Minnesota faces pressure to convince Hughes that the roster can contend alongside Kirill Kaprizov and Matt Boldy. Agent Pat Brisson previously noted no extension was guaranteed, prompting speculation that general manager Bill Guerin may need to explore trading Hughes prior to the deadline if an agreement cannot be reached.
