The Minnesota Wild's injury troubles continue to mount after Olli Maatta missed the final six minutes against Winnipeg, while Jared Spurgeon and Nico Sturm also remained sidelined.

The Minnesota Wild's injury concerns deepened following a 5-2 loss to the Winnipeg Jets, where defenseman Olli Maatta did not play the final six minutes. Head coach John Hynes stated that captain Jared Spurgeon and forward Nico Sturm were undergoing evaluations, with more updates expected later in the week.
Spurgeon missed Tuesday's contest with an upper-body issue, while Sturm landed on injured reserve after taking a puck to the head. Minnesota's depleted roster already includes Brock Faber, Filip Gustavsson, Marcus Foligno, and Nick Foligno just eight games into the 2026-27 season.
