The Minnesota Wild's 2022 second-round pick makes his NHL debut after an impressive collegiate career at Denver and a strong start with Iowa.

Minnesota Wild forward Rieger Lorenz is scheduled to make his NHL debut on Saturday against the Florida Panthers at Amerant Bank Arena. The 22-year-old prospect was recalled from the AHL's Iowa Wild as Minnesota manages injuries throughout its forward lineup, including Nick Foligno being placed on injured reserve. Lorenz was slated to skate on a line with Michael McCarron and Nico Sturm.
Selected 56th overall in the 2022 NHL Draft, Lorenz earned his promotion after tallying three points in two games for Iowa. Prior to turning professional, the forward won two national championships across four seasons with the University of Denver.
