The Montreal Canadiens aren't the only team in the Atlantic Division that is trying to be added to Dylan Larkin's list of teams he is willing to waive his no-trade clause for.

The Montreal Canadiens are facing division competition from the Buffalo Sabres in their pursuit of Detroit Red Wings forward Dylan Larkin, according to The Athletic's Chris Johnston. While Larkin has indicated a willingness to waive his no-trade clause for 10 teams, neither Montreal nor Buffalo are currently on his approved list. However, both clubs have reportedly expressed strong interest in acquiring the center should he expand his destinations.
Writer Brandon Croce argues that while Buffalo offers a US-based location, Montreal presents a stronger competitive roster to entice Larkin into a permanent trade. Croce notes that general manager Kent Hughes faces an uphill battle competing against the Sabres and the 10 teams already on Larkin's approved list, but argues Hughes deserves credit for pursuing an elite upgrade.
