The Laval Rocket faced off against the Calgary Wranglers at the Saddledome for a Halloween matchup aiming to hold their division lead. Despite controlling puck possession early and outshooting Calgary heavily, Laval fell behind when Alex Nylander scored on Calgary's fourth shot of the game past goaltender Kevin Mandolese.
The contest featured rising physical tension, including fights between Tyler Thorpe and Alex Hurtig as well as Braden Haché and Bayden Pachal. While Calgary netminder Kirill Zarubin repeatedly thwarted Laval's early power-play chances, the Rocket pushed back to overturn the deficit via two short-handed goals.
