The NY Islanders are getting some unexpected production from two players who were almost not part of the team's plans this season

Writer Michael Stahurski reports that New York Islanders players Ondrej Palat and Logan Stanley have emerged as unexpected key contributors four games into the NHL season. Despite initial fan skepticism surrounding their roster spots and general manager Mathieu Darche's decision to retain them, both players have delivered strong early performances.
Palat leads the Islanders with a 56.76 CF% while averaging 11:46 of ice time per game on the fourth line. Meanwhile, Stanley was elevated to the top defensive pairing alongside Matthew Schaefer following Alexander Romanov's season-ending injury, leading the team with four assists through four games.
