Russia will return to IIHF competition, meaning we could see the NY Islanders' Russian players back playing for their country…

The Court of Arbitration for Sport has overturned the IIHF's ban on Russia, clearing the nation to return to international competitions immediately due to a lack of evidence regarding security concerns. The decision allows Russian national teams to compete starting with the upcoming World Junior Championship in Edmonton and Red Deer, followed by the World Championship and the 2030 Olympics.
Michael Stahurski of Eyes On Isles argues that New York Islanders players stand to benefit significantly from the ruling. Prospect Daniil Prokhorov could represent Russia at the World Juniors, while goaltender Ilya Sorokin may earn his first opportunity to represent Russia internationally since joining the Islanders.
