Adam Sykora out 4-5 months, Vincent Iorio day to day

New York Rangers winger Adam Sykora will miss four to five months after sustaining a lower-body injury during Monday's preseason opener. The injury occurred after Sykora took a hit from New Jersey Devils defenseman Mikael Diotte, which caused his leg to get caught awkwardly underneath him as he went into the boards.

The long-term absence sidelines Sykora until 2027 while he was competing for a regular-season roster spot. Additionally, defenseman Vincent Iorio left the same game early with an injury and is currently day-to-day, with an expected assignment to Hartford once healthy.
