Glendening finished the 2025-26 season with the Philadelphia Flyers, appearing in all 10 of the team's playoff games.

The New York Rangers have signed 37-year-old forward Luke Glendening to a one-year, $850,000 contract, the team announced Thursday. The veteran center initially joined the Rangers on a professional tryout on Oct. 19 after depth center Joseph Veleno suffered a long-term lower-body injury. Glendening is expected to take over the fourth-line center role under Rangers head coach Mike Sullivan.
Glendening brings 934 games of NHL experience across five previous franchises, having spent last season with the New Jersey Devils and Philadelphia Flyers. Known for his faceoff abilities and penalty killing, Glendening secured the contract after previously failing to make the Tampa Bay Lightning roster out of a preseason tryout.
