NY Rangers trade rumor: Interest in Karel Vejmelka in a 3 team trade?

According to analyst Steve Valiquette on Sportsnet, the New York Rangers reportedly have trade interest in Utah Mammoth goaltender Karel Vejmelka. The rumor initially surfaced in connection to a potential three-team deal involving Connor Hellebuyck and the Winnipeg Jets, though Valiquette noted interest in Vejmelka remains despite that specific possibility passing.

Dave Shapiro of Blue Seat Blogs expresses skepticism regarding the potential acquisition, pointing to Vejmelka's $4.75 million salary over the next three seasons and his .872 save percentage through nine games. The article notes the Rangers' current goaltending situation includes rookie Dylan Garand and an injured Joonas Korpisalo.
