Rangers Notebook: Forecheck fueling fast start; Sullivan on Ovechkin

The New York Rangers have started their season with four wins in five games, largely driven by an aggressive five-man forecheck. Head coach Mike Sullivan emphasized that defending deep in the offensive zone has allowed the team to control momentum and close out games, including a recent 5-2 victory against the New York Islanders.

Ahead of Friday's matchup against the Washington Capitals, Sullivan also praised Alex Ovechkin's remarkable career and ambassadorship for hockey. Meanwhile, Sullivan labeled the Rangers' power play a work in progress, and reports indicated salary cap constraints prevent the team from pursuing Calgary forward Connor Zary.
