A timely turnover was the difference for the Wolf Pack in their first matchup in Charlotte of the season.

The Charlotte Checkers defeated the Hartford Wolf Pack 2-1 on Friday in an Atlantic Division matchup. Following a scoreless first period where goaltenders Callum Tung and Kirill Gerasimyuk combined for 28 saves, Charlotte's Donovan Sebrango broke the ice early in the second frame. Hartford tied the contest at 1-1 before the second intermission courtesy of Bryce McConnell-Barker's first goal of the season.
A late Wolf Pack power play resulted in a decisive turnover, allowing Hunter St. Martin to score the game-winning shorthanded goal on an odd-man rush. The two teams will conclude their weekend series with a rematch on Saturday.
