Ersson’s debut as a Senator shows his dependability

Goaltender Samuel Ersson made his preseason debut for the Ottawa Senators during the annual Kraft Hockeyville game against the Montreal Canadiens. Acquired from the Toronto Maple Leafs to serve as a backup to Linus Ullmark, Ersson stopped 33 of 36 shots for a .917 save percentage.

Ottawa suffered a 3-2 overtime loss to Montreal while playing without top defensemen Jake Sanderson, Thomas Chabot, and Artem Zub. Ersson kept the Senators competitive late in the contest, notably during consecutive penalties in the third period.
