The Story in 60 Seconds

The Florida Panthers have recalled 6-foot-8 goaltender Cooper Black from the AHL's Charlotte Checkers ahead of their road game against the Ottawa Senators. When he makes his debut, the 25-year-old will become the tallest goaltender in NHL history. The trip also marks former Senators captain Brady Tkachuk's first game back in Ottawa since joining Florida.

Black was called up after starting goaltender Jacob Markstrom suffered an upper-body injury expected to sideline him for 10 to 14 days. Akira Schmid is slated to start Wednesday, but Panthers head coach Paul Maurice indicated that Black will likely see game action during the team's four-game road trip.
