The Ottawa Senators are enjoying a positive start to their season, but it has come despite injuries to several key players, particularly on the blue line.
Defenseman Jake Sanderson is returning to the Ottawa Senators lineup just as captain Thomas Chabot exits with an injury. The Senators have navigated significant health issues across their defensive unit while opening the season with a 6-3-0 record, placing them third in the Atlantic Division.
Speaking on Daily Faceoff LIVE, analyst Brent Wallace noted that Ottawa has already used 10 defensemen through nine games. While Chabot had been logging over 27 minutes per contest during Sanderson's absence, Sanderson's return is expected to bolster the defense and assist a struggling power play.
