The Ottawa Senators could find a worthwhile investment in one Washington Capitals forward reportedly on the trade block.

The Ottawa Senators are reportedly eyeing Washington Capitals forward Ivan Miroshnichenko to boost their scoring depth. According to The Fourth Period, Ottawa is among several teams interested in the 22-year-old winger, who ranks fifth on the outlet's Trade Watch List. Facing roster depth and waiver restrictions, Washington is reportedly looking to trade Miroshnichenko rather than risk losing him on waivers to the AHL.
Writer Nestor Quixtan argues that acquiring Miroshnichenko would be a worthwhile risk for Ottawa Senators general manager Steve Staios. Selected 20th overall in the 2022 NHL Draft, Miroshnichenko has recorded six goals and 14 points across 55 NHL games while averaging under 10 minutes of ice time per game.
