The Ottawa Senators appear to be on the verge of getting significantly healthier, with three injured players taking encouraging steps at Saturday’s morning skate.
The Ottawa Senators are nearing full health after Artem Zub, Andre Burakovsky, and Kurtis MacDermid took major steps at Saturday's practice. Defenseman Zub appeared to be cleared for contact after battling a lingering knee injury originally suffered in last spring's playoffs. Meanwhile, forwards Burakovsky and MacDermid both practiced in regular jerseys as they work their way back from respective upper-body injuries.
None of the three players has an official timeline to return to game action yet. However, their imminent returns provide a substantial reinforcement for the Senators, who have achieved a 3-1-0 start to the season despite missing several key contributors.
