The Senators lose yet another defenseman to injury and fall 3-1 to the Flyers, who hadn't won in their first nine games.

The Philadelphia Flyers secured their first victory of the season with a 3-1 win over the Ottawa Senators. Matvei Michkov and Porter Martone led Philadelphia's offense, each tallying a goal and an assist, while Trevor Zegras sealed the game with a late empty-net goal. Ottawa suffered an additional setback during the contest when team captain Thomas Chabot left after appearing to injure his right arm or wrist.
Ottawa had opened the scoring in the second period via a Drake Batherson one-timer assisted by Claude Giroux and Tim Stützle. However, Philadelphia answered with goals from Martone and Michkov before Dan Vladar finished with 25 saves to earn the win over Ottawa goaltender Linus Ullmark.
