Thomas Chabot Was the Right Choice as Senators Captain

The Hockey Writers argues that Chabot was the right choice to lead the team following Brady Tkachuk's trade to the Florida Panthers, noting that selecting him allows the organization to move past offseason distractions.

Chabot, originally selected 18th overall in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, has been a core member of Ottawa's leadership group throughout his nine years with the franchise. Other potential candidates considered for the vacant captaincy included Tim Stutzle, Jake Sanderson, and Claude Giroux.
