Patrik Laine Not Seeking International Offers

Unsigned veteran winger Patrik Laine remains focused on securing an NHL contract and is not considering international offers, according to ESPN's Emily Kaplan. More than a month into the season, the 28-year-old free agent has yet to find a deal in North America despite being eligible for a one-year contract featuring performance incentives.

Laine's recent seasons have been heavily disrupted by injuries, including an abbreviated stint with the Montreal Canadiens where he missed nearly all of the previous campaign after getting hurt five games in. Pro Hockey Rumors notes that while Laine's lethal power-play shot remains an asset, prolonged time on the open market complicates his pursuit of a roster spot.
