‘Everything’s zeroes again’ for the Flyers as new season begins

The Philadelphia Flyers open their 2026-27 NHL regular season on Wednesday night against the Pittsburgh Penguins at Xfinity Mobile Arena. Head coach Rick Tocchet stressed a fresh mindset following last spring's first-round playoff series victory over Pittsburgh, reminding players that the standings are reset to zero.

Philadelphia enters the season with heightened expectations behind a developing young roster that includes Porter Martone, Tyson Foerster, and Matvei Michkov. Tricome notes that the team faces elevated pressure and a competitive Eastern Conference as they aim to build upon their breakthrough campaign.
