Porter Martone and Matvei Michkov have turned instant chemistry together

Philadelphia Flyers young forwards Porter Martone and Matvei Michkov have quickly developed strong on-ice chemistry, highlighted in their October 18, 2026 game against the Ottawa Senators. Playing together alongside Noah Cates, the duo combined for both of the Flyers' non-empty-net goals. Michkov assisted Martone on a tip-in goal, and Martone later set up a Michkov power-play goal as they consistently generated scoring chances throughout the contest.

Following the game, Martone explained that they are learning each other's tendencies through their third game together while growing closer off the ice. Michkov called Martone a special kid and emphasized his commitment to supporting him. Jamey Baskow reports that the 19-year-old Martone and 21-year-old Michkov are injecting crucial energy, skill, and power-play production into Philadelphia's lineup.
