A plethora of injuries to the Penguins' forward unit has afforded the sniper a massive opportunity to build on his offensive production.
Pittsburgh Penguins winger Egor Chinakhov skated on the team's top power play unit during Tuesday's practice ahead of the season opener against the Philadelphia Flyers. Multiple forward injuries opened up a spot for Chinakhov alongside Sidney Crosby, Erik Karlsson, Rickard Rakell, and Tommy Novak.
Chinakhov recorded 18 goals and 36 points in 43 games for Pittsburgh during the 2025-26 campaign. Forward Bryan Rust is sidelined week-to-week with an upper-body injury, joining Ben Kindel, Justin Brazeau, and Andrei Kuzmenko on injured reserve or non-roster designations.
