PITTSBURGH-- It isn't a true Pittsburgh sports game let alone a hockey game without a heart attack and blown leads.

The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Montreal Canadiens in overtime after surrendering a four-goal lead in the third period. Pittsburgh fell behind 1-0 before scoring four unanswered goals in the second period, powered by an Evgeni Malkin goal. Montreal forced overtime with late third-period goals from Kreider and Demidov, but Pittsburgh secured the win on an overtime two-on-one rush featuring Malkin and Tommy Novak.
Pittsburgh improved to a 2-0-0 record to start the season behind 20 saves on 25 shots from goaltender Arturs Silovs. Defensemen Sam Girard and Declan Carlile each scored their first goals for the club, while Malkin and Ben Kindel added power-play tallies in the victory.
