Things looked different for the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday afternoon.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are adjusting their struggling power play following an 0-for-6 showing in Tuesday's loss to the Vegas Golden Knights. During Wednesday's practice, forward Ben Kindel was elevated to the top power-play unit in place of Ville Koivunen, joining Sidney Crosby, Tommy Novak, Rickard Rakell, and Erik Karlsson. Koivunen shifted to the second unit alongside Justin Brazeau, Egor Chinakhov, Evgeni Malkin, and Kris Letang.
Tuesday's scoreless outing dropped the 5-8-2 Penguins' power-play conversion rate to 18.2 percent, ranking 22nd in the NHL. Head coach Dan Muse noted that the special teams' inconsistency mirrors the team's overall play this season, while Crosby expressed optimism that finding regular unit combinations will eventually help generate more goals.
