The Pittsburgh Penguins are reportedly willing to trade a veteran forward for draft picks or prospects to create roster opportunities for younger players. According to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, General Manager Kyle Dubas has signaled Pittsburgh's interest in transitioning toward a younger lineup following the team's 3-4-1 start to the season.
While Friedman did not specify names, writer Jim Parsons highlights Bryan Rust and Rickard Rakell as logical candidates, noting both were available over the summer. Rust lacks trade protection, while Rakell carries an eight-team no-trade list, whereas longtime franchise stars Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin remain less likely trade options.
