Penguins' defensive prospect Chase Pietila - recalled from the AHL Saturday - is ready to take his game to the next level, and he's glad to be experiencing it with an old friend.

Pittsburgh Penguins defensive prospect Chase Pietila was recalled from the AHL following several injuries on the NHL roster. The call-up marks a full-circle reunion for the 22-year-old blueliner, who is now sharing an NHL locker room with childhood friend and former youth teammate Rutger McGroarty.
Pietila, who was drafted 111th overall by Pittsburgh in 2024, is in the second year of his three-year entry-level contract. After a deep Calder Cup Playoff run with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, he is focusing on improving his consistency and offensive skills while awaiting his NHL debut.
