Rathbone has yet to suit up in either an NHL or AHL game this season due to injury.

The Buffalo Sabres have placed defenseman Jack Rathbone on waivers on Friday. Rathbone has not played in a regular-season game this year while dealing with an injury, and Buffalo aims to assign him to their AHL affiliate, the Rochester Americans, if he clears the waiver wire.
Originally a fourth-round pick by the Vancouver Canucks in 2017, Rathbone previously skated in 28 NHL games. He spent the last two seasons playing for Rochester, where he produced 23 points in 2024-25 and 18 points across 49 games last season.
