Sabres Week Ahead: Schedule & Storylines — Power Play Struggles Continue & More

The Buffalo Sabres face a challenging week ahead featuring a California road trip amid ongoing power-play struggles and multiple roster injuries. After going scoreless on two man-advantage opportunities during a 4-3 overtime loss to the Washington Capitals on October 24, Buffalo ranks 31st in the league with only three power-play goals through 11 games. In addition, trade rumors involving Connor Hellebuyck officially ended following his trade to the New Jersey Devils.

Injuries continue to impact the roster, with Jiri Kulich and goaltender Alex Lyon not traveling on the road trip. Head coach Lindy Ruff noted Lyon is progressing well from a shoulder injury, while Sam Carrick remains on injured reserve. Matt Grzelcyk is day-to-day with a lower-body issue, and Conor Timmins has yet to resume skating as Buffalo prepares to play the San Jose Sharks, Anaheim Ducks, and Los Angeles Kings.
