San Jose Sharks center Alex Wennberg is sidelined week-to-week due to an upper-body injury, head coach Ryan Warsofsky announced Thursday. The 32-year-old alternate captain will miss the final two games of the team's road trip against Ottawa and Boston. Wennberg logged a season-low ice time against Toronto on Monday before sitting out Tuesday's overtime victory over Montreal, with Ty Dellandrea taking his spot in the lineup.
Warsofsky stated that Wennberg will be re-evaluated once the Sharks return home. In nine games this season, the veteran center has tallied three assists. The Sharks currently hold a 5-4-1 record through their first 10 games of the 2026-27 campaign, occupying the second wild card spot in the playoff race.
