The Seattle Kraken have officially recalled defenseman Ty Nelson from the AHL's Coachella Valley Firebirds following a lower-body injury to Brandon Montour. Because Seattle held an open roster spot prior to the move, no corresponding transaction was required to add him to the NHL roster.
Nelson, a 22-year-old selected in the third round of the 2022 NHL Draft, has registered 17 goals and 71 points in 140 career AHL games. Although he has yet to make his NHL debut, Montour's injury could offer Nelson his first opportunity to play in the league.
