The Seattle Kraken have been one of the surprise teams in the NHL so far this season. But it’s way too soon to suggest that they’re for real.Seattle is off to a solid 9-5-1 start this season, good for third in…

Trevor Beggs argues that the Seattle Kraken are an ideal trade destination for Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Alexander Nikishin. Despite signing a one-year, $3 million contract on October 26, Nikishin has yet to play a game for Carolina. Reports from Dave Pagnotta of The Fourth Period linked Nikishin to five franchises, including the Kraken, Nashville Predators, St. Louis Blues, New York Islanders, and New York Rangers.
Beggs suggests Seattle possesses both the cap space and draft capital, holding two first-round picks, to execute a permanent trade. The writer notes that Carolina general manager Eric Tulsky could flip Nikishin for future assets, while Seattle could offer the defenseman an expanded role among an aging defensive core.
